Our urology cancer team

Mr Hugh Mostafid

is a Consultant Urologist at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2001 and currently Clinical Lead in the Department of Urology. Mr Mostafid qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital London in 1989 and trained in urology at Guy’s Hospital and the Institute of Urology. He obtained his MSc in urology from the University of London in 1996 and won the William Cook travelling fellowship to visit Dr Skinner’s unit at USC Los Angeles.

His main clinical and research interests are intravesical therapy in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and blue light cystoscopy for bladder cancer. He was one of the pioneers of this technique in the UK as well being on the European consensus panel. He has published papers and presented both in the UK and abroad. He is currently involved in several UK trials on intravesical therapy, as well as laboratory research on chemotherapy resistance in bladder cancer at the University of Reading.

Mr Richard Hindley

s a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2004.

Mr Hindley has a particular interest in minimally invasive treatments in urology (‘key-hole’ or laparoscopic urology), focal therapy for prostate cancer and prostate cancer mapping using a template and laser prostate surgery for benign prostatic enlargement. He is currently recruiting patients for the NCRN-approved trial of Focal therapy for the treatment of prostate cancer using HIFU, part-funded by Pelican.

Trona Campbell

is a Specialist Bladder Cancer Nurse at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ms Campbell has extensive experience in the nursing management of patients with superficial and muscle invasive bladder cancer both in hospital and the community.
