
On Friday 10th July Pelican opened its doors to all those interested in finding out a little more about the work undertaken in the Pelican Centre.
Visitors listened to a presentation given by Mrs Sarah Crane, the Chief Executive of Pelican, and watched a video first shown on the BBC 2 'Trust Me, I'm a Doctor !' series about the Pelican Cancer Foundation and the pioneering work that has been done by Professor Bill Heald and his team for patients with colorectal cancer.
Amongst the visitors were Mr James Arbuthnot Conservative MP for North East Hampshire and Sir Bernard Ribeiro, former President of the Royal College of Surgeons seen here with Professor R J 'Bill' Heald OBE a Pelican Trustee, Mrs Sarah Crane, and Mr Myrddin Rees a Consultant Liver Surgeon at Basingstoke & North Hants Hospital.
A further Open Day will be held on Thursday 6th August 2009 in the Pelican Centre - EVERYONE IS WELCOME !
